Fashion Expert ~ Stylist ~ Writer

Hi, I’m Leah Van Loon, a stylist, fashion writer, and tour guide in Paris (when I’m there!). I’ve been working in fashion for over 30 years, styling photo shoots, wardrobing commercials, and costuming for film and television. In that time, I’ve also had a few other fashion careers: visual display artist at Holt Renfrew, creating props, merchandising windows and styling mannequins. I am an image consultant for production companies to wardrobe their on-air talent, and I consult with clothing brands for fashion shows, advertising, and e-commerce. I’ve even worked as a social media photographer, backstage at major fashion shows, for genius makeup artist Pat McGrath. After realizing my dreams of working in Paris, I decided to launch my own tour business there, using all my extensive professional experience to build specialty fashion itineraries for my clients and materials sourcing for designers, artists and hobbyists.

I currently split my time between my hometown of Calgary, Alberta and my beloved Paris, where I run my tours and get to attend the occasional fashion week. I appear regularly as a fashion expert on CBC radio, both locally and nationally, and I’m a contributor to Elle magazine Canada, writing about fashion with a focus on haute couture and luxury. When I am not in Paris shopping with clients, you’ll find me on Instagram @jellylab_yyc, where I create beautiful (and delicious) gelatin desserts while I’m hanging at home with my sweet Yorkshire terrier, Gigi. Goals for the future include building a YouTube channel (someone, please teach me how to edit?) and finally making it to Amsterdam!
