Chanel Fashion Exhibition Inaugurates the Recently Renovated Palais Galliera

Two years ago the historic Musée Galliera started a reconstruction and has finally reopened! The museum, which was previously only able to mount exhibitions on the ground floor level, now has a newly renovated lower level named after Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel and is currently showcasing the work of this fashion icon with an exhibition curated by Miren Arzalluz, director of the Palais Galliera, and Véronique Belloir.

Christian Dior Salon Series at the Glenbow Museum

When I heard a year ago about the Christian Dior exhibition coming to the Glenbow Museum I was possibly the most excited person in Calgary. I had been sad to miss the original installation by curator Dr. Alexandra Palmer, at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto in 2017, so when the team at the Glenbow asked me to speak about the history of Christian Dior at their salon series I was more than ready!

Marie Kondo and Me

Marie Kondo is a major trending topic this new year precisely because we all set such terrific goals for ourselves at this time of year. Mari made waves first with her book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up which gave people some helpful tools to sort out and organize their entire home. Her new Netflix series, Tidying Up is a wonderful way to get inspired to tackle your own mess and get sorted for all the other things you want to accomplish in 2019. As someone who also helps my clients organize their closet and dressing spaces I really enjoyed seeing where the KonMari method and my own methods agree, and also diverge.

Galerie Louis Vuitton

In May 2016 during my week long fashion group tour, I was introduced to the lovely Paula Alaszkiewicz, the assistant curator of the private Louis Vuitton museum (curator Judith Clark). Not to be confused with the Fondation Louis Vuitton, this is a small archival museum telling the story of the brand and the history of Louis Vuitton. She was kind enough to not only arrange for us to visit the museum but toured us herself through the two story permanent exhibit built in 2015.
